In Haiti, access to education is very limited. Haiti is a poor country where most of the schools are private, and the few public schools are very poor quality. Only the most affluent parents can afford a good education for their children. At HVF we provide a scholarship program covering tuition, uniform, books and supplies to assist children whose parents cannot afford to send them to school.
Tuition for a student in primary and secondary school is around $600 per year. A year of college costs at least $1,700, which is why less than 10% of high school graduates go to college. For comparison, the average Haitian’s annual income is $350. Please help us keep these students in school. $600 a year or $50 per month pays for: • School tuition for the entire year • A student’s school books • A school uniform for the entire school year.
