About
Access to education in Haiti is very limited due to the high cost of tuition at both private and public schools. Most Haitian families cannot afford to send their children to school, leading to low enrollment rates and high rates of illiteracy. At HVF, we offer a scholarship program to help cover the cost of tuition, uniforms, books, and supplies for children from low-income families. However, the cost of tuition for a student in primary and secondary school is around $600 per year, and a year of college costs at least $1,700. As a result, only a small percentage of high school graduates are able to go to college as the average Haitian's annual income is only $350. HVF is dedicated to providing opportunities for academic success to students who would otherwise not be able to afford education due to a lack of resources. We pay tuition directly to schools on behalf of scholarship recipients and provide resources such as books and uniforms to ensure they are able to start the academic year on time. Education is the foundation for improving the lives of Haitian citizens and enabling Haiti to thrive, and we are committed to helping our students receive the education they deserve. |

Measuring Success
HVF requires students or their parents to send copies of their report cards after each exam period so we can monitor their progress. If any students are struggling, we try to identify the issue and find a solution to help them succeed.
Currently, HVF scholarships are supporting 15 primary and secondary school students and 5 college students with a commitment to continue supporting these students until they graduate from secondary school or college. Our goal is to support approximately 100 students in and around Dondon. However, we rely on your support to be able to find resources to expand this program.
Testimony
" At 23, I, a proud Haitian, received a life-changing college scholarship from the Haitian Vision Foundation. This support enabled me to pursue my studies in Administration Sciences at the University Antenor Firmin in Cap-Haitien. Without this scholarship, attending college would have been impossible for me. Now, at 27, I am a testament to the impact of the Haitian Vision Foundation Scholarship program. The Haitian Vision Foundation has played a significant role in my life and the lives of many other Haitian youth, giving us the opportunity to achieve our dreams through education and hard work. I am grateful to the people who support the foundation and the work they do to provide educational opportunities for Haitian youth."
